## Description

Trust4AfricanRockArt (TARA) is an international organization based in Nairobi, committed to preserving and sharing the rich heritage of African rock art. TARA's mission is to create global awareness about the importance and endangered state of African rock art, survey and monitor these sites, provide information resources, and promote conservation measures. As the world's only organization dedicated to this cause, TARA has gained support and recognition from esteemed institutions such as the Ford Foundation, the Andrew Mellon Foundation, and the National Geographic Society. TARA works closely with communities and collaborates with national and international heritage bodies, including the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, to achieve its mission. By recording and making accessible the knowledge about African rock art, TARA seeks to safeguard these vulnerable sites from both human and natural threats. The organization's contributions have been widely acclaimed in scientific and popular media, including National Geographic, Time, Natural History, People, and the London Times. TARA believes that Africa's rock art is not only the common heritage of all Africans but also the common heritage of humanity.
