## Description

The Association Française de Sociologie (AFS), established in 2002, is a prominent organization dedicated to advancing the field of sociology in France. With over 1,555 members organized across fifty thematic networks, AFS fosters collaboration among sociologists through its comprehensive activities and events. The association hosts annual congresses, including the upcoming one in Lyon in 2023, where members can present their research and engage in critical discussions. AFS is also responsible for publishing Socio-Logos, an electronic semiannual journal launched in 2006. Originally a generalist journal, it has evolved to focus specifically on sociological topics, covering aspects such as historical perspectives, research methodologies, and professional debates within the discipline. Furthermore, AFS advocates for sociological perspectives in current societal issues, exemplified by its communication on human rights and education reforms. By providing a platform for intellectual exchange and networking, the AFS plays a vital role in enriching the sociological landscape in France and beyond.
