## Description

The Asociación de Filosofía y Liberación (AFyL), founded in 1982 in Bogotá, serves as a dynamic platform for philosophers from Latin America, the United States, Europe, and beyond, dedicated to engaging thoughtfully with pressing social issues. With a commitment to social responsibility, AFyL aligns its philosophical endeavors with contemporary movements addressing ecological, gender, racial, and economic challenges, promoting discussions rooted in subaltern cultures and critical transformation.

As a proud member of the Federación Internacional de Sociedades de Filosofía (FISP), AFyL actively participates in international congresses, fostering a vibrant exchange of ideas. The association not only organizes seminars, roundtables, and panels across various countries, including Brazil, Colombia, and Mexico, but also supports its members—philosophy professors, graduates, and students—through accessible resources, events, and publications.

AFyL also publishes the influential journal Filosofía de la Liberación, focusing on themes like decolonization and transmodernity, facilitating an ongoing dialogue about the complexities of our modern world. Join AFyL to engage in impactful philosophical discourse and community building.
