## Description

The Antifascist Front of Women (AFŽ) is a historic movement that emerged on June 12, 1942, in Bosanski Petrovac, representing the largest mass organization of women in the region and beyond. Dedicated to the fight against fascism, the AFŽ played a pivotal role in advocating for women's equality and the liberation of Yugoslav society. With its efforts firmly rooted in the People's Liberation Struggle and post-war reconstruction, the AFŽ significantly contributed to women's rights, as recognized in the 1945 Yugoslav Constitution, which established equal pay and protections for women in the workplace.

The organization's legacy includes formidable cultural-educational initiatives that promoted women's literacy and their participation across various socio-political spheres. Although dissolved in 1953, the AFŽ's impact resonates today through its commitment to collective empowerment and social justice. The archive dedicated to the Antifascist Front preserves vital historical evidence, inspiring new generations to acknowledge and build upon the struggles and achievements of women in their pursuit of equality and emancipation.
