Age Concern Waikato supports older people across the Waikato region, helping them stay safe, connected, informed and active. Guided by its commitment to manaakitanga kaumātua, the organisation provides practical assistance, advice and opportunities for social connection.

Its services include an Elder Abuse Response Service for people concerned about abuse, community navigation and guidance, and information and education sessions. Social activities include connection groups, monthly lunches, coffee and conversation, and other events. Trained volunteer visitors provide regular weekly visits and ongoing contact for people who would value companionship. Age Concern Waikato also offers exercise opportunities, including Steady As You Go, and the Total Mobility Scheme, which provides subsidised taxi transport for eligible Waikato residents who cannot use public transport.

Additional programmes include Staying Safe refresher courses for older drivers, support with making the most of digital devices, and Home for Life information. Through its services, activities and community support, Age Concern Waikato helps older people find assistance and take part in community life.
