## Description

AGILE, or the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe, is a prominent organization dedicated to fostering collaboration among researchers and educators in geographic information science. With over 80 member institutions, AGILE serves as a critical platform for exchanging innovative ideas and advancements in the field. The association hosts annual conferences, such as AGILE 2024 in Glasgow and AGILE 2025 in Dresden, where participants can present their research, share best practices, and engage in workshops.

In addition to conferences, AGILE promotes the development of educational initiatives, including a PhD school and community programs aimed at enhancing spatial analysis skills. One notable project is the creation of an open-source Python modeling package, which supports research in geospatial education and has implications for various applications such as crowdsourcing and land administration. AGILE also provides resources like proceedings from past conferences, funding initiatives for community projects, and supports networking opportunities, ensuring members are well-equipped to advance in the geomatics discipline.
