## Description

Agrimútuo is Portugal’s national federation of cooperative financial institutions working in agricultural credit. Established on 8 May 2008, it represents several Caixa de Crédito Agrícola institutions, most of them with more than a century of history. Together, its members operate nearly 50 branches across the regions of Bombarral, Chamusca, Leiria, Mafra and Torres Vedras. The federation promotes mutual support and the development of agricultural cooperative credit as a contribution to rural progress.

Agrimútuo supports its member institutions as an alternative to commercial banking and represents their economic and social interests. Its activities include consultations and policy submissions, research and studies, conferences and debates, and partnerships and protocols. It also offers resources related to financial literacy and publishes work through Editora Agrimútuo, including collections of studies and academic theses. Through these initiatives, the federation provides a platform for cooperation, discussion and shared development among agricultural credit institutions. Its work is focused on strengthening the mutualist model and advancing the common interests of its members and the rural communities they serve.
