## Description

The Humane League is an animal protection organization that works to reduce cruelty in food production and build a movement for better treatment of farmed animals. Through corporate campaigns, public advocacy, research, and community action, it presses businesses to adopt and fulfill stronger animal welfare commitments. Its work includes campaigning against the extreme confinement of hens in battery cages and seeking improvements across corporate supply chains.

The organization mobilizes supporters through petitions and messages to decision-makers, protests, digital activism, volunteering, and public events. It also shares campaign news and research to help people understand animal welfare issues and track progress. Recent advocacy highlighted Ahold Delhaize’s commitment to end battery-cage confinement in its supply chain, with interim milestones, annual reporting, and in-store signage.

People can support The Humane League by making one-time or monthly gifts, fundraising, joining giving societies, or making a legacy gift. The organization also offers ways to volunteer, take action online, and shop official merchandise.
