## Description

The American Horticultural Therapy Association (AHTA) is a nationally recognized organization dedicated to promoting and advancing horticultural therapy as a therapeutic and rehabilitative modality. Established in 1973, AHTA advocates for the development of the horticultural therapy profession and the practice of horticulture as therapy for human well-being. AHTA supports the professional growth and education of horticultural therapy practitioners, offering resources, benefits, and accredited certificate programs. It defines and encourages outstanding standards of practice, disseminates critical knowledge, and recognizes excellence in clinical, professional, educational, and research achievements. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit membership-driven organization, AHTA welcomes individuals and organizations as members from across the US, Canada, Japan, and beyond. It promotes horticultural therapy through National Horticultural Therapy Week and fosters diversity, equity, and inclusion in its programs and leadership. For those interested in horticultural therapy, AHTA offers opportunities for professional registration, internships, and careers. Its annual conference, publications like the Journal of Therapeutic Horticulture, and online resources further contribute to the dissemination of valuable information.
