## Description

The Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act) represents a significant legislative framework adopted by the EU Parliament, aimed at governing the use of artificial intelligence technologies. This comprehensive legislation addresses both high-risk and general-purpose AI systems, defining their classifications and establishing clear guidelines to ensure accountability and transparency. The AI Act encompasses critical provisions around prohibited AI practices, as well as stringent requirements for risk management, technical documentation, and data governance.

Moreover, the AI Act emphasizes the importance of compliance obligations for providers and deployers, while also proposing measures to support innovation, such as AI regulatory sandboxes. With a strong focus on protecting fundamental rights, the Act outlines obligations for stakeholders at all levels, including notifying authorities and conformity assessment bodies.

Through its structured approach, the AI Act not only aims to foster a trustworthy AI ecosystem but also ensures that technology is developed and implemented within a framework that prioritizes safety and ethical considerations. For comprehensive access, the Act is available on the ai-act-law.eu website.
