Description
AIACA (All India Artisans and Craftworkers Welfare Association) is a non-profit organization established in 2004, dedicated to the handloom and handicrafts sector in India. With a mission to ensure the growth and vibrancy of this sector and improve the standard of living for artisans and crafts workers, AIACA has become a driving force in supporting and empowering marginalized communities. One of AIACA's key initiatives is their Craft Kutumb program, which focuses on enterprise development, design and product development, access to finance, access to market, and digital empowerment.
Through this program, AIACA has uplifted the livelihoods of over 15,000 artisans across India. AIACA also runs Craftmark, a renowned certification that recognizes and promotes the authenticity and quality of Indian handicrafts. With a network of more than 110,000 artisans spanning across 23 states in India, AIACA has certified over 90 different handicraft processes.
Their work extends beyond direct impact, as they engage in policy research, advocacy, and collaborate with various stakeholders to promote the growth of the handicrafts industry. AIACA is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Indian handicrafts while creating sustainable livelihoods for artisans
