## Description

The Hong Kong Aikido Association (HKAA) is a Hong Kong-based organization dedicated to promoting and teaching Aikido, a Japanese martial art that emphasizes personal development, respect, and harmony rather than competition. Established in 1971, it is described as Hong Kong’s oldest Aikido organization and was incorporated as a company limited by guarantee in 1999. HKAA is officially recognized by Aikikai, the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, and is a founding member of the International Aikido Federation and a member of the Asian Aikido Federation. The association provides regular classes for beginners and experienced practitioners, supported by volunteer instructors, and offers a free introductory trial class for prospective members, with advance registration required. Its activities include training sessions, Dan and Kyu grading examinations, seminars, demonstrations, and exchange events with Aikido groups in Hong Kong and overseas. HKAA also shares training schedules, grading information, dojo etiquette guidance, and membership details through its website and member portal. Its approach welcomes people to practice together in a supportive, non-competitive environment.
