## Description

Aikido Yuishinkai UK is the British branch of Aikido Yuishinkai International, an aikido association founded by Koretoshi Maruyama Sensei on 9 May 1996. The UK organisation has been in existence since 2004 and connects practitioners through dojos in Kendal, London, Manchester and Pontypridd. Its website provides information about aikido and the Yuishinkai approach, introduces the association and its founder, and helps visitors find local dojos. It also shares details of seminars and events, alongside resources for people interested in learning more about the practice and organisation.

Maruyama Sensei studied under aikido’s founder for 13 years and later served as Chief Instructor of the Ki Society until resigning in 1991. From 1991 to 2001, he entered a temple, and he resumed teaching internationally in 2002. The organisation presents his motto, which emphasises maintaining positive thoughts, gratitude, hope and optimism even when facing physical hardship or obstacles. Through its UK presence and connection to the international association, Aikido Yuishinkai UK offers a point of contact for those seeking information about its aikido community and activities.
