## Description

The AIMO Prize is a $10 million challenge fund launched by XTX Markets to encourage the open development of artificial intelligence models capable of mathematical reasoning. Its long-term goal is to support the creation of a publicly shared AI model that can achieve performance equivalent to a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The programme offers a $5 million grand prize to the first eligible public model to reach that standard in an AIMO-approved competition. Up to $5 million more is allocated to progress prizes, which recognize models that achieve important milestones toward the main goal. The prize programme brings together mathematics, deep learning and Olympiad problem-setting through an advisory committee that helps design its awards. Progress prizes have opened in stages, beginning in April 2024, with further rounds launched in October 2024 and November 2025. The AIMO Prize also shares updates on its work, including a presentation of progress at the 65th IMO in Bath, England, in July 2024.
