## Description

The New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival is a premier event held at the unique venue of New Chitose Airport Terminal in Hokkaido, Japan. Established in 2014, this festival operates an in-terminal cinema, making it a distinctive platform for animation enthusiasts to celebrate and explore the art form. Now in its 11th year, the festival has gained acclaim for its wide-ranging programming that includes competitions with a record number of submissions from both domestic and international creators, public exhibitions, workshops, and guest lectures.

The festival aims to foster cultural exchange and inspire creativity, positioning itself as a hub for innovation in animation. Highlighting a diverse spectrum of animated works, it also delves into adjacent fields like gaming and XR (extended reality). This year's program introduces the "30 Seconds" competition, showcasing selected works via digital signage within the airport, reaching an audience of over 22 million annual travelers. The festival not only enhances artistic appreciation but also stimulates local cultural tourism, encouraging new talent in the animation industry.
