## Description

AirportHistory.org is a visual history resource dedicated to documenting how the world’s great airports have developed over time. It traces the growth of today’s major hubs from modest beginnings, revisits busy airports that have since closed, and explores ambitious airport projects that were planned but never built. The site presents airport history through articles, timelines, and photographs, bringing together stories and images for aviation enthusiasts, researchers, and anyone interested in the places that shape air travel.

Its content includes airport features and updates, such as a timeline on Abu Dhabi International Airport and stories about notable aircraft visits and memorable scenes at airports including Frankfurt, Los Angeles, and Munich Riem. AirportHistory.org also offers a digital library and a blog, with new airports and material added over time. The site describes its collection as featuring thousands of images not otherwise seen online, in magazines, or in books. Visitors can browse airport histories, read the latest updates, and sign up for an email newsletter announcing new content.
