The Association for Iron & Steel Technology (AIST) is a globally recognized non-profit organization with 16,600 members from over 70 countries. AIST serves as an unparalleled network of steel industry knowledge and expertise, comprising 29 Technology Committees and 22 Local Member Chapters across six continents. AIST is committed to advancing the technical development, production, processing, and application of iron and steel, positioning itself as a global leader in networking, education, and sustainability programs for the steel industry.

AIST offers a wide range of educational and networking experiences aimed at enhancing professional development for steel industry professionals and students. By joining AIST, individuals can participate in Technology Committees focused on various facets of the iron and steel manufacturing process, as well as Local Member Chapters that provide grassroots engagement opportunities. AIST also provides industry resources, conferences, and events, as well as the premier technical journal for iron and steel professionals, 'Iron & Steel Technology.' Through the AIST Foundation, scholarships, grants, and programs are available to support the industry's next generation.
