## Description

American Jewish University (AJU) is a thriving center of Jewish resources and talent that serves the Jewish community of the twenty-first century. As a portal for Jewish belonging, AJU equips students, faculty, campers, and learners of all ages with the tools to create ideas, build structures, and develop programs that advance Jewish wisdom and elevate Jewish living. AJU's mission is to advance and elevate the Jewish journey of individuals, organizations, and the community through excellence in scholarship, teaching, engaged conversation, and outreach. The history of AJU dates back to 1947 when the University of Judaism (UJ) was founded in Los Angeles. Over the years, UJ evolved and expanded, incorporating diverse elements of Jewish civilization and culture. It became known as a Jewish academic institution that welcomed students from diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Today, AJU offers a range of programs, including the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, the Graduate Center for Jewish Education, and the Brandeis Camp Institute (BCI). AJU's campuses, including the Familian Campus in Bel Air and the Brandeis Bardin Campus in Simi Valley, provide a vibrant and inclusive environment for Jewish education, learning, and community engagement.
