## Description

Akashic Atlas is a public-facing project building an evolving, place-based atlas of America. It helps users explore communities and elections through dedicated pages for geographic areas, with information about who lives there, how residents vote, and the history behind those patterns. The current release includes 3,514 published places and 2,204 contests, covering counties, congressional districts, municipalities, states, and wards. Users can search for places or elections by name, alias, or identifier, and browse by geography, year, or office. Place results include state, geographic level, and boundary vintage to distinguish similarly named areas. Election pages present reported results and identify their sources, while release information and coverage notes help users understand what is included and verify the underlying data. The project’s long-term objective is to provide precinct-level or finer results for every candidate and separately reported ballot line across American elections throughout history. Akashic Atlas notes that the current edition is still incomplete and does not yet cover the full scope of that ambition.
