## Description

AK Child & Family is an Anchorage-based behavioral health organization serving children and young people from communities across Alaska. Founded as a children’s home, the organization now provides psychiatric and therapeutic services for youth with significant emotional and behavioral needs. Its work is guided by a commitment to helping young people and families build healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Services include psychiatric residential treatment, offering intensive, around-the-clock care in a supportive setting, and community programs tailored to the needs of youth and their families. Community-based options include home-based treatment and therapeutic treatment homes. The organization also recruits, trains, and licenses therapeutic treatment parents, providing ongoing support to help them offer safe, nurturing homes. Families can begin through a single admissions process, where master’s-educated clinicians assess a child’s needs and treatment history.

AK Child & Family also provides statewide training and shares information about its care models and outcomes. The organization welcomes community support through donations and partnerships, and invites people interested in youth services to explore employment and treatment-parent opportunities.
