The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) is an international network of private, non-denominational development organizations. AKDN is committed to improving the welfare and prospects of people in Asia and Africa through various programs, including early childhood development, education, health, building resilient communities, and environmental initiatives. The Network also focuses on economic growth, enterprise development, and cultural heritage preservation.

Founded and chaired by His Highness the Aga Khan, the 49th hereditary Imam (Spiritual Leader) of the Shia Ismaili Muslims, AKDN is underpinned by the ethical principles of Islam but operates regardless of any specific community, country, or region, promoting pluralism and improving living conditions for people regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. Funding for AKDN's activities comes from a variety of sources, including partnerships with governments, multilateral institutions, the private sector, the Ismaili community, and individual and corporate donations. While the Network's origins were rooted in the Ismaili community, its institutions now serve a wide cross-section of the population, with many programs benefitting areas where the Ismaili community is not present
