## Description

Åke Andrén Foundation is a Swedish foundation established in 2011 through a donation from bank director Åke Andrén of Värnamo. Its purpose is to support artistic research, education and development, with a particular focus on encouraging promising artists. The foundation also promotes public-benefit activities of a cultural nature.

Since 2012, the foundation has awarded an annual scholarship to support artistic development. Recipients are selected by the board from recommendations made by a jury; artists cannot apply directly for the scholarship. This nomination-based process is central to how the foundation identifies and supports emerging artistic talent.

Through its scholarship programme and broader cultural purpose, Åke Andrén Foundation contributes to the development of artistic practice and knowledge in Sweden. The foundation shares information about its scholarship recipients, including personal profiles, and provides updates through its website. It is based at Skeda gård in Rydaholm and lists contact details for inquiries. The foundation’s work is focused on supporting art and culture through recognition, education and opportunities for promising artists.
