## Description

Akula Literary Partners is a literary and creative development firm focused on creating original and adaptive works for screen, television, and print. Its name draws on two meanings: “Akula” is described as having Sanskrit origins meaning “transcendental,” and as the Bulgarian word for “shark.” The firm presents its approach as “The Science of Storytelling,” emphasizing the development of stories and properties for different formats.

Akula’s website features information about the company, its writers, and its development work, along with a producer portal. Producers seeking access to the firm’s slate, scripts, and property decks are invited to contact Akula by email. The company explicitly states that it does not accept unsolicited material. Its stated focus on both original and adaptive works positions Akula around developing literary and story properties for screen, television, and print, while its writer and development sections offer points of entry for learning more about its work and creative roster.
