## Description

Tampereen Akvaarioseura is a volunteer-run aquarium society based in Tampere, Finland, supporting aquarium enthusiasts since 1945. With around 220 members, it welcomes everyone from beginners to experienced hobbyists and professionals. The society promotes shared learning and responsible aquarium keeping through regular activities, including lectures, practical workshops, excursions and an annual autumn aquarium auction. Its programme generally follows spring and autumn seasons.

Members can use the society’s club facilities, including care aquariums, and access services such as aquarium care, equipment sales, lifting equipment rental, microscope use and a lending library. The society also publishes Botia, a magazine issued twice a year to members and available online as a free digital edition. Its website provides hobby guides, reading materials, event information and a discussion area.

Tampereen Akvaarioseura is a member organisation of Finland’s association for exotic-animal enthusiasts and contributes aquarium expertise to discussions about responsible animal keeping. Members can also receive discounts at partner aquarium and pet shops.
