## Description

Montana Al-Anon Family Groups is a fellowship offering help and hope to relatives and friends affected by someone else’s alcoholism. Its purpose is to support families and friends through shared experience, strength, and hope, and to encourage understanding of the challenges alcoholism can bring. Members share personal stories rather than giving advice or direction, allowing each person to consider what may work in their own life. Meetings provide an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding, with opportunities for emotional support, shared experiences, and useful resources. The organization lists meetings across Montana communities and offers in-person, virtual, and hybrid formats, including discussion groups and step studies. It also provides Alateen information and events, along with group, member, and service resources. There are no membership dues; the fellowship is supported by voluntary contributions. Al-Anon/Alateen is not affiliated with any religious, political, or other outside organization. Through the Twelve Steps and mutual support, members seek greater strength, contentment, and hope, whether or not the alcoholic is still drinking.
