## Description

AL_A is an award-winning architecture studio founded in 2009 by architect Amanda Levete, winner of the RIBA Stirling Prize. Together with directors Ho-Yin Ng, Alice Dietsch, and Maximiliano Arrocet, AL_A collaborates with ambitious and visionary clients to develop designs that go beyond mere buildings. They conceptualize urban propositions that express the identity of institutions, cities, and even nations. AL_A has an impressive portfolio of completed projects, including an undergraduate and outreach center for Wadham College at the University of Oxford, a new cancer care center for Maggie's at the University College Hospital in Southampton, and the Exhibition Road Quarter at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Recent projects also include the MAAT, a Museum of Art, Architecture, and Technology in Lisbon, and the Central Embassy, a shopping mall and hotel in Bangkok. AL_A is currently working on the expansion and redevelopment of Paisley Museum in Scotland and the design of the first prototype magnetized target fusion facility in the world for General Fusion. In addition to commissioned work, AL_A engages in self-generated projects such as Tincan, a pop-up restaurant in Soho, and Pitch/Pitch, a stackable system of 5-a-side football pitches that addresses the lack of sports spaces in cities. AL_A's approach is to surpass physicality, functionality, and budget in order to extend their clients' ambitions through architectural invention. They aim to realize visions and create truly transformative spaces.
