## Description

AlabamaCreates is a statewide creative development initiative and a program of Student Creative Exchange, focused on surfacing, developing, and showcasing talent across Alabama. Its work spans three disciplines: Brand, including identity, design, art direction, and visual systems; Motion, covering film, video, animation, editing, and production; and Interactive, encompassing web, product, immersive media, and emerging creative technology. The organization connects creatives with training, mentors, equipment, collaborators, and opportunities to build practical experience.

Its Film Exchange is a youth filmmaking fellowship and high school video competition for students in Central and Southeast Alabama. Participants create professional-grade work alongside working filmmakers, receive training and real-world experience, and can earn a creator kit or $3,000 in equipment. For adults, the Studio Cohort is a multidisciplinary accelerator across Brand, Motion, and Interactive. Participants work with practicing professionals on real projects with defined delivery dates. AlabamaCreates also fosters a statewide community of storytellers, designers, filmmakers, and builders through its network, events, program updates, and opportunities to connect.
