## Description

Alameda Flying Club is a member-supported, nonprofit flying club based at Hayward Executive Airport (KHWD) in California’s San Francisco Bay Area. In continuous operation since 1946, the club brings together pilots and aspiring aviators who share a passion for flying, community, and learning. Members have access to the club’s well-maintained, hangared 1976 Cessna 172M, which is equipped for instrument flight and suited to flight training, local sightseeing, and longer trips. The club emphasizes convenient scheduling and affordable rates, with membership cost details available by contacting the organization.

Alameda Flying Club welcomes both certificated pilots and students. Two instructors are available for training and aircraft checkouts, and members may bring a non-member certified flight instructor, subject to checkout. Members also gain practical insight into aircraft ownership and operations, with maintenance performed by volunteers under the supervision of an in-house A&P mechanic. Monthly meetings, aircraft wash days, and barbecues help foster camaraderie and shared aviation knowledge. Prospective members can contact the club by email to ask questions or discuss joining.
