About

Description

Alamo Area Council, a branch of the Boy Scouts of America, is committed to providing character development and values-based leadership training to young people in San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding 13-county area. With over 16,000 youth and 2,400 volunteer adults, they continue to prepare the next generation for life through outdoor activities, citizenship, and fitness. The council manages three premier camps: Bear Creek Scout Reservation, Mays Family Scout Ranch, and McGimsey Scout Park, offering over 1,500 acres of outdoor adventure for boys and girls aged 5 to 20.

These camps provide a platform for experiential learning and personal growth. The Alamo Area Council's mission is to instill ethical and moral choices in youth by instilling the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Their vision is to prepare every eligible youth in America to become responsible, participating citizens guided by these principles.
