## Description

The Alamo Letter Society is an organization dedicated to educating current and future Texans about the struggle for Texas independence and honoring the Tejano leaders José Antonio Navarro and Juan Seguín. Its mission is to place a large bronze plaque featuring Colonel William Barrett Travis’s “Victory or Death” letter in all 254 Texas county courthouses, bringing this defining piece of history to communities across the state.

Written on February 24, 1836, during the siege of the Alamo, Travis’s letter appealed to Texans and people around the world for support. The Society shares the letter’s history and its connection to the events and people of the Texas Revolution. It also highlights Navarro and Seguín, who believed they could be both proud Mexicans and loyal Tejanos.

Through its courthouse plaque initiative, educational materials, historical resources, and public outreach, the Alamo Letter Society aims to preserve these stories for future generations. The organization invites people to learn about its mission, explore the letter’s background, follow dedication dates, and support its work through donations.
