## Description

Al-Anon/Alateen is a support organization dedicated to the relatives and friends of alcoholics. It aims to address the common challenges faced by those affected by someone else's drinking by fostering a community where individuals can share their experiences and insights about their lives with alcoholics. Al-Anon believes that alcoholism is a disease that impacts the entire family, and by changing perspectives, members can aid in the alcoholic's recovery process.

Al-Anon provides a safe space for families, encouraging members to confront their fears and heal from past wounds through discussion groups. The organization is not affiliated with any sect, religion, or institution, maintaining neutrality on external issues. Membership is open to anyone with a relative or friend struggling with alcoholism, and there are no mandatory fees; it operates solely on voluntary contributions.

Additionally, Alateen offers a recovery program for young people aged 12 to 20, based on the principles of the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous. Together, these programs foster healing and understanding within affected families.
