## Description

The Canadian Albacore Association (CAA) supports the Albacore sailing community in Canada, bringing together new sailors, experienced racers, clubs, and enthusiasts. Its focus is the Albacore, a classic sailing dinghy designed by Uffa Fox in 1954. Responsive and nimble in varied conditions, the boat accommodates two adults and is used for both learning and competitive racing. More than 8,200 Albacores have been sold worldwide, with active fleets in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

The CAA helps people get involved through information about learning to sail, finding a nearby club, joining the class, and taking part in events. Many clubs offer CANSail lessons with certified instructors. Members and visitors can explore racing events and series standings, as well as read Shackles & Cringles, the association’s quarterly publication featuring class news, event information, race results, and rigging and trimming tips. The CAA also connects sailors with Albacore associations and fleets in the United States, the United Kingdom, and internationally, helping strengthen the class across borders.
