## Description

RETROactive – Exploring Alberta’s Past is an Alberta-focused heritage blog that shares stories and research about the province’s history, archaeology, archives, and cultural heritage. Its articles draw on historical documents, archaeological studies, collections, and community knowledge to make the past accessible to readers. Topics in the supplied material include conservation work at the University of Calgary’s Glenbow Archives, research into ancient canids at Alberta archaeological sites, and the history of Indigenous girls at Red Deer Industrial School. The site also features information about Alberta heritage markers and a Heritage Art Series, alongside sections such as About, Comment Policy, Hyperlinking Notice, and RETROactive Live. Articles are written by researchers, heritage professionals, and contributors, and may connect archival discoveries with broader historical events, including the making of Treaty 6. Rather than offering physical products, RETROactive provides editorial and educational content for people interested in Alberta’s past. Readers can explore its posts, follow links to related studies and resources, and share or discuss articles through available online features.
