## Description

The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is the largest nonpartisan, voluntary membership organization of state legislators in the United States. They are dedicated to promoting the principles of limited government, free markets, and federalism. ALEC brings together nearly one-quarter of the country's state legislators and stakeholders from various policy areas, representing over 60 million Americans and creating jobs for more than 30 million people. ALEC provides a platform for experts to discuss and develop innovative ideas on business and economic issues facing the states. They have a model policy library that houses dynamic and creative solutions to reduce everyday costs and ensure economic freedom. Their ideas and publications are the result of extensive research, debate, and discussion, serving as a toolkit for anyone seeking to make government more effective and less costly. As a forum for stakeholders, ALEC fosters the exchange of ideas and the development of state-based solutions to encourage growth, preserve economic security, and protect taxpayers. By joining ALEC, state legislators gain access to shared knowledge and experiences, learning from each other's successes and failures. Similarly, business leaders and policy experts contribute important perspectives to policy discussions, considering the real-world implications of potential policies. ALEC is committed to driving discussion and staying at the forefront of innovation and technology. Through strategic planning, they aim to strengthen and expand their organization to lead national conversations on free market thought. Join ALEC and be part of a community dedicated to limited government, free markets, and federalism.
