## Description

Gilles Neau and Cécile Toulon-Neau are travel documentarians and authors whose work is shaped by a longstanding commitment to immersion. For 40 years, they have travelled and lived alongside communities in places including Mali, Ecuador, Nepal, Mongolia and Chilean Patagonia. Gilles photographs and films, while Cécile writes, conducts interviews and researches the histories and daily lives of the people they meet. Their work focuses on sharing the experiences of communities such as the Puruhua people of the Ecuadorian Andes, people of Tibetan origin in Nepal, and descendants of the Yaghan people in Patagonia. Drawing on this documentary work, they offer films and conferences, publish books through Editions de l’Orchère, and present photographic exhibitions. Their journeys also reflect a passion for trekking: travelling with tents and independently, they explore trails in France, the Himalayas, Mongolia, the Andes and Patagonia. Through their writing, images and presentations, the Neaus invite audiences to discover the lives, histories and present-day realities of the communities they consider friends.
