## Description

ALERTWest is dedicated to transforming situational awareness through innovative technology aimed at wildfire prevention and management. Founded in 2023, ALERTWest utilizes a comprehensive network of cameras and advanced software solutions to support first responders, emergency management personnel, and the public. Our mission centers around deploying an interoperable platform that incorporates AI wildfire detection to mitigate the impacts of wildfires on lives, property, and the environment.

In collaboration with universities and other organizations, ALERTWest fosters local engagement and supports research initiatives focusing on natural hazards. Our platform is built upon the proven success of ALERTCalifornia, a renowned program developed by UC San Diego, which has expanded to oversee over 1,060 monitoring cameras across California.

Recognized as one of TIME’s Best Inventions of 2023, ALERTWest is leading the way in revolutionizing wildfire response capabilities. As we continue to grow our network, our commitment to public safety and effective disaster management remains at the forefront of our mission.
