## Description

A-Level Capital is a student-run venture capital firm founded in 2015 to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem at Johns Hopkins University. It invests in companies led by Johns Hopkins alumni and affiliates, addressing what it describes as a traditionally underfunded community. Its investment approach is industry-agnostic: a student team sources opportunities, conducts due diligence with input from founders and professional advisors, and makes investment decisions. Beyond providing capital, the firm supports portfolio companies through access to student interns and a professional network of investors and advisors. Its work also creates practical venture capital experience and networking opportunities for student team members, while helping undergraduates pursue internships at startups. The portfolio includes businesses in areas such as enterprise software, technology, and financial technology, including companies developing tools for machine learning, generative AI workflows, and finance automation. A-Level Capital reports more than 43 investments, over $2 million in assets under management, and a team of 24 members. The firm shares portfolio updates, articles, and news through its website and newsletter.
