## Description

The Alevitische Gemeinde Deutschland (Alevite Community Germany) is the umbrella organization for German Alevites and represents the interests of its 160 member communities. As a firm institution in German society, they serve as essential partners for the state, politics, and economy, at both national and local levels. Alevites, who are known for their diverse interpretations of the faith, have Cem-houses in all major cities across Germany, totaling over 160 communities. The Alevitische Gemeinde Deutschland is committed to promoting education and offers Alevitic religious education. Additionally, they are actively engaged in cultural and art projects, both analog and digital, through their initiative Open-Air-Culture. Recently, they inaugurated the Madımak Massacre Memorial Center with a digital library, commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Massacre of Madımak. They are also a new program partner of the federal funding program Kultur macht stark. Bündnisse für Bildung (2023-2027). For more information, visit their website or get in touch with their headquarters in Cologne.
