ALFA is a brand that aims to reduce the stigma and impact of HIV, viral hepatitis, STIs, and other communicable diseases. They provide access to equitable prevention, education, and care services to achieve their mission. Their services include educational programs, HIV, STI & Hep C testing, COVID-19 testing, linkage to treatment, syringe access programs, naloxone distribution (overdose reversal drug), and condom distribution. They also offer care services for people living with HIV. ALFA's history dates back to 1987 when it was organized as a grassroots effort to support those affected by HIV/AIDS.

Since then, the organization has expanded its services to multiple counties. With a dedicated team and partnerships with medical clinics, ALFA continues to serve the Appalachian Mountains and foothills of rural Northwestern North Carolina.
