## Description

Alfombras de Serrín de Elche de la Sierra is an association dedicated to preserving and promoting the town’s distinctive Corpus Christi tradition in Albacete, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. For more than 50 years, residents have transformed coloured sawdust into intricate, temporary carpets, bringing together the celebration’s religious significance, artistic expression and community participation. The festivities are recognised as a Fiesta of National Tourist Interest and an Asset of Cultural Interest.

The association’s website introduces visitors to the carpets and their history, including a historical timeline, awards and past event posters. It also shares news, programmes, recommendations, competition results, photographs and multimedia about the celebration. People who value the tradition can support its continued development by joining the association. The site provides information for visitors and members, including event details, contact information and updates about upcoming celebrations. By documenting the craft and inviting public involvement, Alfombras de Serrín de Elche de la Sierra helps keep this ephemeral art visible and sustains a tradition that reflects the pride and shared effort of the local community.
