## Description

LICA (Learning Initiative for Conservation Agriculture) is at the forefront of promoting agroecology in Southeast Asia, particularly through its initiatives in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, and Vietnam. Established during the ASEAN AMAF Meeting in 2012, LICA initially focused on Conservation Agriculture but has since evolved to encompass a wide array of agroecological approaches, including Integrated Pest Management, Organic Agriculture, and the System of Rice Intensification.

The initiative aims to unify ASEAN member states in adopting sustainable agricultural practices that enhance food security and ecological health. LICA facilitates a regional community of experienced agroecology practitioners through an online directory, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing. It also provides platforms for workshops, training, and job vacancies, alongside various grant facilities to support local agroecology projects. The overarching mission of LICA is to equip local and regional stakeholders with evidence-based insights to influence policy and advocacy efforts, driving a collective transition towards more sustainable agricultural systems throughout ASEAN.
