## Description

ALIR Alta Padovana is an association dedicated to people living with chronic respiratory insufficiency and their families. Founded in 2005 by patients, relatives, and healthcare professionals from the Pneumology Unit at Cittadella Hospital, it serves the former ULSS 15 area and is part of the wider ALIR network. The association brings together around 50 members and works to improve patients’ quality of life and support them in managing respiratory illness.

Its activities include promoting respiratory assistance and rehabilitation, encouraging prevention of chronic bronchitis, and helping people understand their conditions and treatments. ALIR also advocates for patients experiencing vulnerability and creates opportunities for social connection, including protected holidays. The organization provides information about chronic respiratory diseases and their effects, and shares educational materials such as its information leaflet. People can support its work by joining the association or contributing through Italy’s 5×1000 tax donation scheme. Based at the Pneumology Unit of Cittadella Hospital in Padua, ALIR Alta Padovana offers a local point of contact for patients, families, and community members seeking information or involvement.
