## Description

Alexander C. Allori is a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon and academic at Duke University. He serves as an Associate Professor of Surgery in Plastic, Maxillofacial, and Oral Surgery and an Associate Professor in Population Health Sciences, and is affiliate faculty at the Duke-Margolis Institute for Health Policy. His clinical work focuses on children with cleft lip and palate and other facial differences. Allori promotes multidisciplinary, team-based care and standardized, prospective measurement of outcomes to help assess and improve treatment.

His research interests include cleft care, patient-reported outcomes, surgical outcomes, and causal inference using real-world data in observational studies. His scholarly work examines longitudinal patterns in cleft surgery, patient-friendly ways to present reported outcomes, and the use of language models to generate synthetic operative notes. He has contributed to funded research on pain management for young children undergoing cleft palate repair, nasal function and treatment outcomes, and infantile hemangiomas. Allori earned his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston in 2003.
