## Description

Alpe d’HuZes is a Dutch fundraising organisation built around an annual sporting event supporting cancer research and improved quality of life for people living with cancer. On the first Thursday of June, thousands of participants cycle, run or walk up Alpe d’Huez, climbing the mountain as many as six times under the motto “Giving up is not an option.” Since the event began in 2006, it has raised more than €271 million.

The organisation brings together participants, children, volunteers, sponsors, supporters and friends, and offers opportunities to take part in person or through the Indoor Ride. Supporters can donate directly to participants or teams, with every euro going to the Alpe d’HuZes/KWF fund for cancer research. Alpe d’HuZes also provides practical resources for preparation, including training guidance, travel and accommodation information, meal and equipment advice, fundraising tools, event clothing and training routes. Its website shares news, photos, videos, podcasts and event information, helping its community prepare, participate and support the cause.
