## Description

Delta Sigma Pi is a professional fraternity that has been making a significant impact since its establishment in 1907. Originally founded by four business majors at New York University, Delta Sigma Pi aimed to create an inclusive organization for fellow students who were passionate about business. The fraternity is committed to fostering the study of business in universities and encouraging scholarship, social activity, and the association of students for mutual advancement. Additionally, Delta Sigma Pi strives to promote closer ties between the commercial world and commerce students, while upholding a higher standard of commercial ethics and culture.

Delta Sigma Pi offers numerous opportunities for personal and professional development. Through programs and initiatives, they provide valuable leadership skills, promote diversity for better business leadership, and strengthen communities through service and philanthropy. The fraternity also emphasizes the importance of social and professional networking, which adds value to members' personal and professional lives.

The Alpha Kappa Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi, founded in 1952, has its own rich history. Notably, the chapter was one of the first to allow women into the fraternity in 1975. It has also had distinguished members who held the highest elected office within the fraternity. Furthermore, the City of Buffalo recognized the chapter's impact by designating November 7th, 2000 as Alpha Kappa Chapter/Delta Sigma Pi Day. Delta Sigma Pi at SUNY Buffalo continues to thrive and make a significant contribution to the business community.
