## Description

Alte Sägerei is a creative venue and service provider in Hohnstorf on the Elbe, based in a former sawmill with roots in the Schütte family’s carpentry and sawmill business. The brick building was designed and built in 1959 by architect Dieter Schütte, son of the original founder. Although the sawmill is no longer operating, the site preserves its historic character and brings together a range of contemporary offerings.

The business presents an architecture office, an event space, holiday apartments, and vintage-car rides for weddings and outings. Its event programme includes cultural gatherings such as readings with music and a small Christmas market, creating opportunities for visitors to enjoy local culture and seasonal activities. Snacks can also be served at events by arrangement.

Alte Sägerei aims to unite ideas and activities under one roof, combining accommodation, events, architecture, and special-occasion transport in a distinctive historic setting. The venue is located at Triftweg 14 in Hohnstorf/Elbe, and enquiries can be made by phone or email.
