## Description

Alteco Medical AB is an ISO 13485-certified medical device company based in Lund, Sweden. With a focus on patient care, Alteco Medical provides hospitals worldwide with a groundbreaking solution to combat endotoxemia. Their flagship product, the Alteco LPS Adsorber, removes endotoxin (lipopolysaccharide, LPS) from the patient's bloodstream using a unique blood purification technology. This innovative add-on therapy is crucial in treating sepsis, a life-threatening inflammatory response to infection. By stabilizing the patient when standard medical treatment proves inadequate, the Alteco LPS Adsorber helps prevent tissue damage, organ failure, and death. With nearly 49 million cases and 11 million deaths annually, sepsis is a significant global health crisis. Alteco Medical has been on the market since 2007, effectively breaking the chain of immune system overreactions by safely eliminating endotoxin during extracorporeal treatment. Their class IIa medical device utilizes a synthetic peptide to adsorb circulating endotoxin and stabilize the patient's hemodynamic parameters. Alteco Medical is dedicated to removing the threat of endotoxemia and improving patient outcomes.
