# Altern unterm Regenbogen - **Website:** - **Primary alias:** `alternuntermregenbogen.de` ## Description Altern unterm Regenbogen is a Düsseldorf-based specialist service supporting the interests and wellbeing of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and intersex people aged 55 and older. Its work is inclusive of people with and without disabilities and welcomes people of all nationalities, cultural and religious backgrounds, skin colors, and social origins. The service also advises professionals and advocacy groups working with older adults, as well as staff, coordinators, activity organizers, and visitors at Düsseldorf’s zentren plus community centers. The initiative provides information about services, events, and topics relevant to LGBTQI+ people aged 55 and over, while pioneering work on LGBTQI+ ageing in Düsseldorf. Its team brings together expertise from Aidshilfe Düsseldorf, the Düsseldorf women’s counseling center, and AWO Düsseldorf. Team members serve different communities and are available to colleagues in senior services and elder care.
