## Description

Altris Reconstructive Wellness is a specialized private practice in New York City focused on secondary breast reconstruction and whole-person recovery after breast cancer. Co-founded by board-certified plastic surgeons Katie Weichman, MD, and Vishal Thanik, MD, the practice supports patients seeking reconstruction, revision, or further care after earlier surgery. Its services include implant-based and autologous reconstruction, DIEP flap revision, implant-to-autologous conversion, alternative flap procedures, and repair of complex or failed reconstructions. Patients can also seek treatment for animation deformity, implant malposition, and capsular contracture, as well as nipple reconstruction, fat grafting, and cosmetic breast procedures. Altris emphasizes personalized consultations and care tailored to each patient’s history, health, and goals. Its approach extends beyond surgery to evidence-based support for nutrition, recovery, mental health, and overall well-being. The practice also offers educational resources, expert insights, patient stories, and second opinions to help people understand their options. Altris aims to help patients restore confidence, strength, and quality of life as they move from surviving cancer toward thriving after treatment.
