Alwyn Fishing is a privately owned angling venue at Alwyn Dam, near Pretoria, South Africa, close to Rietvlei Game Reserve. Developed from a farm dam, it is a popular destination in the South African angling community, welcoming conventional and specimen anglers, as well as beginners and families. The venue offers 15 designated fishing swims and opportunities to catch carp and barber, with the dam’s varied depths and two islands adding variety to the fishing experience.

Visitors can reserve a preferred date and swim through the online booking system, with advance booking recommended for weekends and holidays. Each swim has a water point and built-in braai, while basic toilet facilities are available on site. Anglers need to bring their own fishing equipment, bait and tackle; rental gear is not provided. Alwyn Fishing offers a peaceful setting for a day by the water or a family outing away from the city. The venue is open daily from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.; visitors are advised to use an SUV or bakkie when road conditions are affected by heavy rain.
